The Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and cleared a former Chief Judge of the state, Justice Henry Adebola Olusiyi as Chairman of the state anti-corruption commission.

Olusiyi was screened at the plenary sitting of the House on Thursday following his nomination by Governor Usman Ododo.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, who chaired the Committee of the Whole charged the new appointee to work hard and bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.

The former Chief Judge was taken through question and answer session at the Committee of the Whole with members asking how he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the first against corruption.

Justice Olusiyi, in his submission during the screening, commended Governor Ododo for taking the bold step in establishing the commission to address issues of corruption in the state.

He promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by the governor.

It would be recalled Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Tuesday sent a letter to the House seeking approval and confirmation of the House for their appointments.

The Governor, in the letter, had nominated Dauda Onimisi Bello who is being considered for position of Director of Operations and Dr Tseija Azubuju Seidu, Director of Administration alongside the former CJ for screening and confirmation.

The House, however, slated Dauda Onimisi Bello and Dr. Tseija Azumju Seidu for screening at another date due to inadequate communication between them and the Assembly.
