The youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has issued a strong condemnation of the recent actions of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, describing his posture as a direct assault on the unity, stability, and supremacy of the party that provided him the platform to emerge as Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District.

In a press statement released on behalf of Kogi youths at the APC Secretariat, Lokoja by the Kogi APC Youth Leader, Mohammed U. Mohammed, the youths faulted the APC stakeholders’ meeting convened by Senator Karimi, noting that his actions amount to an open attempt to dispute, undermine, and weaken the internal cohesion of the party.

The youths expressed deep concern that a major beneficiary of the APC’s collective struggle, sacrifices, and electoral goodwill would now embark on a course capable of damaging the party’s hard-earned unity and public image. According to the statement, the APC in Kogi State was painstakingly rebuilt and strengthened under the leadership of the immediate past Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whose political vision and structural reforms laid a solid foundation that continues to sustain the party.

They further noted that this legacy is presently being consolidated by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, through purposeful leadership, continuity, and inclusive governance, stressing that any attempt to question or destabilize this established structure is unacceptable.

The youths described Senator Karimi’s conduct as an act of ingratitude and a deliberate move to sabotage the party that entrusted him with a senatorial mandate, emphasizing that such actions are inconsistent with the values of loyalty, discipline, and collective responsibility expected of leaders elected on the APC platform.
“APC is built on unity and party supremacy. No individual, regardless of position, is bigger than the party,” the statement declared, warning that personal ambition must never be allowed to override collective interest.

The Kogi APC youths therefore unequivocally condemned and rejected Senator Karimi’s actions and urged him to retrace his steps, respect party supremacy, and realign with the shared vision and interest of the APC in Kogi State.

They reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the party leadership and their commitment to protecting the unity and strength of the APC, insisting that the future of the party lies in cohesion, not division.
