Kogi State chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Haddy Ametuo, has said that the party is in better position to win the next elections judging by the overwhelming support it is getting across the state.
Ametuo, who spoke to Sunday Independent from Lokoja, described the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to shift the elections to March 28 and April 11 as opportunity for the state chapter of the party to win overwhelmingly.
“The decision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government to manipulate the shift in the election is an indication that the party is afraid of APC, which is growing larger every day in Kogi State”, he said.
Ametuo further stated that with the caliber of people moving from PDP to APC in Kogi State, the days of the party in Lugard House is numbered.
You know that on February 7, prominent politicians like Senator Nicholas Yaya Ugbane, former governorship aspirant, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Salihu Atawodi (rtd), Sani Ogu and their supporters from Kogi-East were received into APC.
Ametuo expressed disappointment in the ability of PDP government to move the state forward in the past 12 years.

“Kogi State remains the most backward in the country because the party in power has no idea on how to develop the state”.
He further expressed confidence on the ability of APC to defeat PDP in the next general elections because the people of the state are yearning for a change.
