The All Progressives Congress (APC) elders in Kogi State have called on the national leadership of the party and President-elect Muhammadu Buhari to save the party from imminent collapse under the leadership of Prince Abubakar Audu.
The group under the aegis of All Progressives Elders Vanguard accused the former governor of hijacking the party machinery to his benefit, warning that APC will lose the goodwill it enjoyed during the presidential election if Audu is not called to order.
The group in a statement signed by Isa Sani Omolori, its Chairman, urged the national leadership and president-elect to address the bad blood occasioned by imposition of candidates by the former governor during the last primaries.
They also called on the national leadership to compel Audu to pay for all the expenses incurred by the aspirants who were denied the opportunity to participate in the primaries.
They also want all the aggrieved aspirants to โbe given priority in any future political appointments commensurate with their aspirationโ and called for the removal of the former governor as the party leader in the state.
