Twelve aspirants who contested for the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets for the House of Representatives in Kogi State have called for the cancellation of results of the primary election conducted on Sunday.
In a statement signed by Barrister Jimoh Muhammed and 11 others, the aspirants said there were no materials for primary election across the state, except Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency.
The statement said: “The primary election committee addressed all the aspirants in Lokoja where they assured us of free, transparent and credible primaries, with the state party chairman Haddi Ametuo in attendance. We were assured that election materials shall be distributed from the party secretariat by 8am on the election day.
“Let us warn that as critical stakeholders, we all toiled and laboured to build this party to its present level of public acceptability. We want this anomaly to be rectified for the greater good of the party.”
They called on the national leadership of the party to save the party from some groups they said were hell bent on destroying the party.
Meanwhile, Buba Jibrin has picked the Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency ticket with 335 votes during the primary election.
