Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign Gains Momentum as Gov Ododo’s Aide Engages NSCDC for Statewide Collaboration

In a bid to strengthen the ongoing Kogi Anti-Fraud Awareness Campaign, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, in collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Private Education Institutions and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Women Entrepreneurship, paid a familiarization visit to the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, CC Aletan Olumide Ebenezer.

The visit formed part of efforts to deepen inter-agency cooperation and expand the reach of the anti-fraud campaign across the state. The delegation commended the NSCDC for its consistent role in maintaining security and public safety, while also encouraging the Command to sustain and scale up its contributions in tackling fraud and related offences.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, outlined the objectives of the campaign, which include public sensitization, youth engagement, and the promotion of responsible digital practices. He emphasized the need for strong collaboration with security agencies, particularly the NSCDC, to ensure effective implementation and wider impact.

Hon. Eleta also appreciated the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for maintaining a zero-tolerance stance against fraud and for establishing the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Fraud and Internet Matters. He noted that the creation of the office reflects the administration’s clear position against fraud and its commitment to promoting accountability and ethical conduct.

The Senior Special Assistant on Private Education Institution, Hon. Clement Daudu also emphasized the need for the State Command of NSCDC to partner with the Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign in order to enhance the effectiveness of the awareness across the state.

In his response, the State Commandant, CC Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, commended the initiative, describing it as timely and well-structured. He noted that sustained awareness efforts would contribute significantly to building a more informed and vigilant society.

The Commandant further appreciated the Governor for providing a conducive environment for security agencies to operate effectively, and for promoting inclusive governance that engages young people in meaningful ways. He pledged the full support of the NSCDC Kogi State Command to the campaign and assured the delegation of the readiness of the Command and its personnel to support the initiative whenever required.

Also present at the meeting were Hon. Clement Daudu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Private Education Institutions; Ms. Precious Omotayo Leramo, Private Secretary to the Senior Special Assistant on Fraud and Internet Matters; as well as senior and principal officers of the NSCDC Kogi State Command.
