A faction of the State Working Committee (SWC) of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kogi State has announced the expulsion of the party’s state chairman, Kingsley Ogga.

The faction believed to be loyal to member representing Yagba federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, described Kingsley Ogga’s purported return the chairman of the party as a ‘figment of his own imagination.’

‎This was made this known on Monday during the State Working Committee and critical stakeholders meeting held at Lily Hotel, Lokoja.

‎Speaking after the meeting to newsmen, the State Public Relation Officer of the party, Mr. Johnson Tayo also said the party at the state level will not aligned with the Coalition Movement; as such does not reflect the true yearnings of the party members.

They, however, declared as laughable the rumored suspension of the House of Representatives member, Hon. Abejide by the Ogga’s faction, saying there was no place such decision was taken by the party.

‎“We do not recognize the leadership of Kingsley Ogga. Ogga was expelled from the party in 2022 right from his Ward, to LGA, which was ratified by the State executive. There was no where in time that the suspension and expulsion was upturned. By implication, a party member whose membership is withdrawn is logically out of circle.

Pro-Abejide Faction

‎”We reiterated that Ogga’s suspension renders all his actions as null and void, and he can therefore not speak on behalf of our great party.

‎”We call on security operatives to help us apprehend him for impersonation. His continued false claim as party chairman is causing untold damage to the party in the state. Ogga has been forging party members signatures to perpetrate his criminal act.

‎”However, at today’s meeting, we reviewed our stand, and reaffirmed that the Member representing Yagba Federal constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide remains the leader of the party, not only at the state level but also at the national level.

‎”Leke Abejide is the only elected party member in the entire country and so, his position as leader remains sacrosanct,” he said.

‎This meeting is coming on the heels of the suspension of Abejide by the Kingsley Ogga-led faction of ADC.

Addressing newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Ogga said after extensive deliberations over the constant and deliberate actions and activities of some members and party officials, the party has suspended Abejide along with four other members.

“In view of their disloyalty to the party and the anti party activities as well as act of insubordination embarked upon by them in contrary to the provisions of our party’s Constitution, the party hereby suspend the following members in line with Article 6 Section 1,2,&4, Article 22 Section 1,2,6,8,9&10 and Article 32, the oath of office schedule of our great party, ADC, as applicable.

“Those suspended are; Rt Hon Leke Joseph Abejide, Dr Idris Omede, Hon Johnson Tayo, Lukman Usman Adedayo and Olabode Kayode.

“The above-mentioned people are suspended from today, 4th August, 2025, as unanimously agreed and endorsed by the State Working Committee (SEC) which met today Monday, 4th August, 2025 at Lokoja, Kogi State.

“Having reviewed their activities by the leadership of the party and their failure to honour the invitation extended to them in lines with the stipulated law of our party since 2023, after the last governorship election and their perpetual breach of the party Constitution, most especially Hon Leke Joseph Abejide and his running mate Hon Dr Idris Omede and other state’s officials of the party mentioned above.

“This suspension takes immediate effect,” Ogga stated.

He stated further that the suspended members are to appear before the national working committee for further fair hearing on Monday, 11th August, 2025.

The State Working Committee of the party unanimously passed votes of confidence in the leadership of the State Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga and Secretary, John Adaji Udale.
