The recently appointed Chairman, Kogi State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Adabenege Adams has today assumed office in Lokoja.
Adams who had earlier promised to hit the ground running in the management of the commission held a maiden meeting and brainstorming session with the top managers and staff of the commission after which he was conducted around various department of the Commission.
While addressing the staff, the new helmsman of the commission noted that there will be no excuse for non performance of his team as Governor Yahaya Bello, who he described as a rare advocate of human capital development, has given a fertile ground for optimum performance.
“Governor Yahaya Bello as we all know, is a leader that is goal-oriented. He appointed us with the sole aim to reposition this commission for maximum operations and productivity. My team is counting on your effort to deliver on this onerous task that the state government has bestowed on us at this material time,” he said.
Adams, who hinted that he would be working closely with the existing managerial and administrative structures of the commission, reiterated that the aim of his team is to attain higher heights of achievements recorded by the Commission over the years.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Yahaya Omoye commended the Governor for what he regarded as timely inauguration of the board just as he expressed optimism that the leadership of Hon. Adams who is a renown manager and administrator will mark the beginning of unprecedented stability of the commission.
Omoye noted that as the youngest chairman of the Commission since inception with accumulated experience in accounting, administration and management, Adams will no doubt perform creditably well with his team who were carefully chosen by Governor Bello.
Other members of the Commission who spoke at the maiden meeting expressed their readiness to complement the effort of the board in order to succeed as planned.
