The Kogi State Chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has given the State Governor, Captain Idris Wada one week to make public how money realised through various donations for flood victims was spent or face mass protest.

The State Chairman of ACN, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo made this in statement made available to Kogireports.com

“It has become very obvious that Captain Idris Wada is insensitive to the people’s sufferings, it will surprise you to hear that more than Two Billion Naira realized through various donations to aid and assist those affected by the recent flood in Kogi State are yet to receive a kobo from the government, the recent protest by the flood victims in Lokoja shows that the money meant for relief and resettlement of those that are displaced has been cornered again into personal pockets”, he said.

According to the statement, rice meant for flood victims was used by Kogi State government as Sallah gifts and being used as Christmas gifts with bold inscription ‘Donated by Dangote’ which is unfortunate and shows open diversion.

“Despite the huge sum being allocated to the state on a monthly basis coupled with the deductions from the allocation meant for local government areas without anything to show for it.”

“The only achievement is the private jet and plane purchased by Idris Wada to boost his air transport business which has since collapsed and Nine Hundred Million Naira worth property just acquired in Abuja that will soon turn into hotel.

His Deputy Governor also has just bought a hotel which is popularly known as Grand Mirage and Properties in Abuja.”
