Kogi: 4 Ceramics Company Workers Dies in Auto Crash

Four workers of the BN Ceramics Company, Ajaokuta, Kogi State, lost their lives in an auto crash some distance from the company plant.

It was gathered that the accident involved a bus and Toyota car at about 9.45 am on Wednesday. Eye witness account said both vehicles were involved in a head-on collusion when the driver of the bus overtook another vehicle at a sharp bend.

The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Solomon Agure, while confirming the accident, said three staff out of the nine in the BN Ceramics Company vehicle died on the spot.

He added that the victims worked overnight and were on their way back home, when the unfortunate accident occurred.

Those injured were said to have been rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The BN Ceramics, in a statement it issued, expressed regret over the unfortunate incident.

Salihu  Mohammed, the Human Resources Manager, who signed the statement on behalf of the management, stated that the accident occurred within Ajaokuta.

“The management condoles with the family of those who lost there lives, assuring that the management is making frantic efforts to rescue and pick up the medical bills of those injured.

“The management calls for calm amongst the staff, prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

“The management used the medium to call on motorists to drive safely and check their speed limit while driving within the steel complex,” the statement added.
