Top political stakeholders, elders, and leaders from Kogi West, Kogi Central, and Kogi East have issued a stern warning to Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke: contest the 2027 governorship election or face legal action from the people.

This unprecedented threat, stemming from cross-district consultations, underscores growing frustration over Kogi State’s deepening leadership crisis and the urgent demand for competent rescue leadership.

Sources reveal that the leaders are united in their conviction that 2027 must not be another season of political gambling, but a pivotal moment to restore governance, stability, and public confidence in the state.

Widely regarded as Kogi’s most nationally connected and politically experienced figure, Hon. Faleke is seen by many across the three senatorial districts as the only candidate capable of rebuilding institutions and re-establishing the state’s link to the federal centre.

Though the proposed lawsuit is largely symbolic, analysts say it reflects the desperation of a people unwilling to witness another missed opportunity for redemption.

As pressure mounts, Hon. Faleke has remained silent, fueling speculation and galvanizing groups who insist that leadership in moments of crisis is not optional.

With 2027 fast approaching, one message now echoes across Kogi State: Faleke must run.
