Keynote Speech Delivered on The Occasion of One-Day Interaction of Youths and Professionals From Across The Three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State by Pharm. Ojeje Amin Onimisi
Haven carefully studied the political events that followed the demise of our beloved prince of the Niger, the great achiever and developer, our very dear PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU and after due consultation with various stake holders in our dear state, these are our collective resolutions;
That we are very much conscious of the basic fact that Kogi youths were the primary victims of years of mis-governance of our dear state as we had become a very ready made tools for all forms of vices
That we have enjoyed a relative peace between the various ethnic components of our great state and thus not willing to use our unity to negotiate for any political positions
We are also very much aware of the importance of peace in the quest for any meaningful development which our dear state have been starved of for years now.
We would therefore like to state categorically that we have decided to give all the necessary support and cooperation to the administration of the incoming governor in the person of His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello.
Being a brilliant, young and successful entrepreneur, we are convinced that Kogi wouldn’t have been luckier having such a fine mind at the helm of our affairs. We will be counting on his managerial skills and experiences in public offices to turn the economic fortunes of our great state around.
We want to see an immediate kick start of processes that will give birth to the new Kogi of our dream.
Though, Alh. Yahaya Bello is from the youth constituency, our resolution to give him the necessary support wasn’t born out of this sentiment but our collective conviction that he will deliver based on his superlative antecedents.
We hereby urge all Kogites irrespective of their ethnic, religious, and political divide to join hands with the incoming govt. to see that we free our great state from the grip of perpetual economic and social under development.
We shall recommend various practicable economic policies that we hope to be of immense benefit towards actualizing our collective dream of making Kogi stand tall among other states in Nigeria.
On this note we would like to appeal to all aggrieved persons to channel their complains and grievances to the appropriate authorities and desist from making inflammatory statements that could instigate violence and anarchy.
Kogi youths will no longer be available tools for destructions but rather agents of good governance.
Thank you very much
Long live kogi youths
Long live kogi state
Long live Nigeria
