Keep Hope Alive, NUT Urges Kogi Teachers

Public primary school teachers in Kogi state have been Congratulated for witnessing a new year 2021 despite the myriad of human challenges of the out gone year. 

The state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Thomas Ayodele, in a new year message to primary school teachers in the 21 local government areas of the state explained that the outgone 2020 came with humongous challenges like percentage salaries payment and the closure of schools due to the out-break of  Covid-19.

According to the state labour leader, these identified teething challenges had caused untold hardship and setback to the education industry.

Comrade Thomas Ayodele admonished teachers and the core pillar in the education sector not to lose hope but rather keep hope alive, adding that in 2021, all hands must be desk to revamp it as the primary education remain the foundation for sustainable growth and development of the society.

He appealed to governments at all levels to implement policies and programmes that will tackle the crisis rocking the primary school education head-on as the lackadaisical attitudes has affected the delivery of qualitative teaching and learning in public primary schools across the state.

He lauded Governor Yahaya Bello for his administration’s giant stride geared towards resuscitating the near- collapsing primary education in the state, saying that his far reaching decision to pardoned one thousand and four teachers affected during the screening exercise and brought them back to the payroll of government deserves commendation.
