The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF) has described Senator Sunday Karimi as an outstanding and performing serving Senator and a proud member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement on Friday, State Coordinator of Forum, Sani Philips, admonished the APC ward chairmen in Kabba-Bunu local government to desist from playing divisive politics.
He said the no confidence vote on Senator Karimi is a provocative act which is a direct reaction to the tremendous achievements and rising profile of the lawmaker, who through his numerous projects, programs and interventions has alleviated the sufferings of his constituents bringing smiles upon their faces.

He said KPSF is aware that there are more of such “no confidence votes” underway across other LGAs by members of the LGA party executives of Kogi West senatorial district.
“As a forum, we are committed to protecting the interest of all our members who are operating in the political fields across the 21LGA of Kogi state and shall defend steadfastly that interest no matter the circumstances.
“While we work towards de-escalating the tensions and resolving the issues amicably as members of the ruling party in the state, we wish to state emphatically that the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State belongs to all members of the party and it is our collective duty to enhance its electoral value and fortunes rather than diminish it through damaging and divisive acts such as passing a ‘no confidence vote’ on an outstanding and performing serving Senator of the party who through his numerous projects, programs and interventions has alleviated the sufferings of his constituents bringing smiles upon their faces.
“It is pertinent to state at this point that a house divided against itself will not stand and that power belongs to God and He distributes it according to his will.
“However, we strongly believe that this very unnecessary and provocative act is a direct reaction to the tremendous achievements and rising profile of Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi not only amongst citizens of Kogi West whom he represents at the Senate, but across the 21 LGA’s of Kogi State, through his benevolent acts aimed ONLY at galvanizing support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for a second term in office as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
Sani said KPSF is monitoring the situations in Kogi West closely and appealed to all their members in the senatorial district, especially those in Kabba-Bunu, to remain calm and not be distracted by minor challenges and obstacles, focusing on the big picture, rather than waste time trivial confrontations.
