A former House of Representative member, Hon. Sunday Karimi has commiserated with the people of Isanlu Community, the leadership of Yagba East Local council, the Nigeria Police and the immediate families of the deceased over the robbery attack and gruesome murder of innocent citizens and men of the Police force in Isanlu community.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, Karimi said “My heart bled as I received with shock and sadness the news of the bank robbery attack and gruesome murder of innocent citizens and security personnel by criminals in Isanlu, Yagba East on Thursday 5th June, 2020. It is indeed a very sad moment for all of us.
“My heartfelt condolences to the immediate families of the deceased, His Royal Majesty, Agbana of Isanlu land, the Nigeria Police and the people of Isanlu community.”
Hon. Karimi also commiserated with the government and people of Yagba East, the people of Yagba Federal Constituency, and the entire OKun nation.
He described the attack and killings of innocent citizens as senseless, callous and totally condemnable.
He also symphatised with the government and people of Kogi State, saying this indeed is a trying time for the the security architecture of the state.

Hon. Karimi called on the Inspector General of Police, the military formations and other relevant security agencies in the country to give special attention to security challenges in Kogi West and particularly Okun land where bank robbery is far becoming a regular occurrence.
“In the entire Okun land, most of the commercial banks have been closed down owing to incessant bank robbery attacks and killings of Innocent citizens in time past. Out of six First Bank’s branches in Okun land which were located in Egbe, Isanlu, Mopa, Aiyetoro, Iyamoye, and Kabba, it is however very sad to note that all these branches have been closed down leaving two as service centres except for Kabba branch that can be said to be the only functional first bank branch in the entire Okun land.
“There are only two branches of UBA in the entire Okun land located in Odo-Ere and Kabba which are only operating skeletally due to fear of uncertainty.”
He attributed this ugly development to incessant bank robbery attack which has claimed lot of lives.
“Virtually all the banks in Okunland had been attacked by armed bandits at one time or the other, the very recent one was the attack on UBA branch, Odo-Ere where innocents lives were lost; this situation is no longer acceptable.
“This ugly scenario has had adverse effects on the economic activities in Okun land, while many people had to traveled far distances to access and do banking transactions with attendant risks.”
Hon. Karimi therefore called on the Nigerian Police to establish Mopol formation in Yagba Federal Constituency and for the military to establish a full fledged Military Unit in the area.
He, however, prayed that God will grant the departed souls eternal rest and the immediate families, the Isanlu community and the entire Okun people the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.
