The senator representing Kogi West says his focus is fixed on one objective: securing a second term for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Everything else, he insists, is a distraction.
Speaking to constituents from across the seven local government areas of his senatorial district, Sunday Karimi said he is not engaged in any political rivalry in Kogi State and has no interest in internal disputes.
“Our priority is the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said. “I am not in a political tussle with anyone in the state.”
Karimi urged party leaders and critical stakeholders to unite behind the president’s re-election bid, asking constituents to return to their communities to mobilise support. He said their concerns are being collated and prioritised to ensure effective representation at the National Assembly.
He praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing the president as relentless in pursuing national development despite persistent security challenges. According to the senator, the current wave of insecurity is aimed at undermining the administration, but he urged Nigerians not to lose hope.
“These challenges are being discussed at the National Assembly with a view to finding lasting solutions,” he said.
Karimi also briefed constituents on his recent meeting with the brigade commander in Lokoja, where security concerns in Kogi West were discussed. He said the engagement would lead to troop deployments to Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin, and Isanlu communities.
On infrastructure, the lawmaker addressed concerns over delays in the reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe road. He explained that the Federal Ministry of Works is awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement to commence the project. To accelerate progress, Karimi disclosed that he has committed N3 billion to the project—N2 billion from his constituency allowance and an additional N1 billion personally.
For Karimi, the message was delivered without slogans or theatrics. Politics, he suggested, is not always about confrontation. Sometimes it is about choosing one clear objective, shutting out distractions, and staying long enough to see the work through.
