Kano Lawmaker, Hon Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado to Award Full Tuition Fee Scholarship to 101 Constituents in Tertiary Institutions

All is now set for the disbursement of cash to youths seeking admission into Kano State Polytechnic and other technological institutions in Nigeria by the member representing Garko/Wudil Federal consistiency at House of Representatives, Hon Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Musbahu Darki, the lawmaker will be distributing cash worth one hundred million naira to students from the consitiency who have secured admission to study various courses for diffeent programmes at Pre-ND, ND and HND levels at the Kano State Polytechnic.

According to the statement, over three hundred eligible constituents who indicated interest in writing the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matrixulation Examination, UTME, conducted by JAMB will be given registration fees.

The statement added that, about one hundred women who have successfully completed training in various trades and skills will be given empowerment starter packs and grants.

The programme which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 6th February, 2024 by 10am prompt will take place at Saf Hotel, Wudil-in Wudil Local Government of Kano State.

The programme will be witnessed by representatives of the Kano State Government, serving and former federal and state lawmakers, educational administrators at all levels in Kano State, civil society organizations, head of tertiary institutions and the media.

Recall that Hon. Ado since his surjorn to the National Assembly has embarked on several people oriented programmes and empowerment, aimed improving thier well being.

In recent times, the lawmaker has initiated and sponsored drainages, culverts cleaning project in Wudil L.G. A to mitigate flooding effects, donated sewing machines to Garko Orphanage Foundation to train orphans with tailoring skills for self-reliance, Inaugurated ad-hoc healthcare committee and sponsored free medical outreach programs, providing over 2,000 constituents with checkups and screenings on Hepatitis B, funded installation of solar streetlights in Wudil/Garko L.G.A, improving safety and security
of the people, payment of outstanding fines for indebted prisoners in Wudil Custodial Center, thereby
allowing their release and provided a new water pump generator to Wudil Custodial Center to restore reliable water access.

Hon Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado also facilitated the provision of essential cleaning supplies and materials to Wudil custodial Center, awarded scholarships to indigenous students from the constituency attending
Bayero University Kano, donated medical equipment and supplies to the Emergency Units of Wudil & Garko General Hospitals, relaunched “SHA KA TAFI” Program; providing a financial token of N5,000 monthly to 300 low income earners in the constituency and hace at various times, distributed food items to constituents to cushion the effect of the recent economic crisis.

Other interventions made across part of the consistency is the Construction of fence wall in Wudil PHC and Garko PHC maternity unit to upgrade the two PHCs, the sponsorship of free eye surgery, medical glasses, and medication to over 2,000 constituents with eye infections, organized and sponsored a 5-day seminar for 70 Friday (Jum@) Imams across Garko/Wudil constituency and the distribution of offers in the army, immigration and other agencies for those he facilitated employment to.

Tuesday’s award of educational support funds and empowerment to women is aimed at fulfilling his campaign promises in line with the blue print of the NNPP.
