It was glitz and glamour as the creme de la creme of the society stormed Ajaokuta in Kogi state for the traditional wedding ceremony of Elizabeth Odimayo and Abraham Oghie.
The wedding of Elizabeth and Abraham took place at the bride’s family house in Bikon Ajaokuta Kogi State.
Pastor Ruth Lamja of Assembly of God Church, Bicon Ajaokuta Kogi State, in her exhortation message, admonished the newly wedded couple to always seek the face of God in their marriage.
According to Lamja, the couple should always be guided by the teachings of the almighty God.
The clergy added that couples should not relent in recognizing God’s presence in their home stressing that, Jesus is the author of all marriage.
Speaking on the topic ‘welcome Jesus into your home’, the minister said when couples welcome Jesus into their home, they will have a blissful family at the end.
Picking her text from the book of Genesis 2:24, the minister noted that their is need for couples to speak in one voice and avoid ear say in their matrimony.
According to Pastor Lamja, when Jesus takes over the home, love will overshadow the union and the enemy would not have access in their entire lives.
She stressed further that, when there is love, everything in the home will be rosy and beautiful.
Pastor Lamja maintained that, when there is crisis in marriage, God is the only one that should be called upon to solve solve it among aggrieved couples.
The clergy, however, sounded a note of warning to those engaging in adultery; sex before marriage, just as she opined that, such act is not acceptable before their creator.
“Marriage is a blessing from the almighty God. That is why the holy book says, what God has joined together, let no man put asunder. I am happy that Elizabeth and Abraham has found love. They should ensure that the love becomes the main tool to grow their new home. One thing is very sacrosanct in marriage, that is putting God first to abort any plans to the evil one,” she said.
The father of the bride Mr Joseph Odimayo gave out the hand of the bride to the groom’s family.
Speaking to newsmen, the father of the bride, Mr Joseph Odimayo, who was overwhelmed thanked all those that attended the ceremony praying that God Almighty will bless the union.
The father of the bride who was represented by his younger brother, Mr Omosuyi Odimayo, an Assistant Chief Technical Officer, Department of Operation, Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL), Kogi State, charged the new couple to always speak in one voice and avoid third parties in their union.
“No marriage is perfect. They should now see themselves as one flesh and should not be distracted by the earthly things. Putting God first is very important. As they start the journey of a new life, they should not forget the teaching of God and they should ensure that their kids is raised in a Godly way. I wish them all the best in life,” he said.
Adding his voice, Father of the groom, Isa Ugiomoh, admonished the newly wedded couple to always pray for the blessings of God in their marriage.
The elderstatesman noted that, marriage is a about sacrifice from both parties, adding that the newly wedded couple should fully ready to face the task ahead in their new world.
The groom, Abraham Oghie, who is an indigene of Agenebode in Etsako East Local Government of Edo state was highly elated to pick a bride from the Odimayo’s family.
Mr Oghie who is a notable business guru based in Kano State, expressed appreciation to the family for giving him a beautiful bride who is ready to change his world for good.
The new bride, Elizabeth Odimayo said she married the husband of her dream.
“Today is the happiest day in my life because I got married to the man of my dream. I am from Irele Local Government of Ondo State, South West Nigeria. My husband is from Edo State. This are two different ethnic group coming together.
“We met in Kano state and since then, we have been dating before getting to this point. My husband is so unique because he doesn’t hide anything from me and he fears God. I promise to do my best by God grace to build a happy home”.
The wedding ceremony was well attended by top security chiefs, prominent personalities from far and near, politicians, journalists and the Head of News, Confluence Cable Network, owners of Confluence Television and Grace 95.5fm Lokoja, Mr Olatunde Odimayo amongst others.
