The Kakanda Kingdom has a new traditional ruler, the Agankyu of Kakanda, Engr. Faruk Muhammad Kakanda.
Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, approved the appointment of Engr. Faruk Muhammad Kakanda as the Agankyu of Kakanda, a first-class traditional ruler, effective March 4, 2026.
The appointment, made in accordance with the Kogi State Chiefs (Appointment, Deposition and Establishment of Traditional Councils) Law, 2006, followed traditional processes and consultations with relevant authorities.
The new Agankyu has pledged to promote peace, unity, and development in the kingdom.
The Royal Father, while receiving his appointment letter, said power belongs to Almighty Allah and he gives who he chooses, he therefore assured that Kakanda under his rulership will witness rapid development, Peace and Tranquility.
He equally called on all Kakanda sons and daughters all over the world to come together and move Kakanda Land developmentally.
The Kakanda Kingdom thanked the government, kingmakers, and the community for their support. The public is asked to give the new ruler due respect and cooperation.
