Senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi West, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has described the collapse of Kabba-Egbe road as a danger to the economic prosperity of the axis.
He made this comment in a release he personally signed and made available to the press.
The senatorial aspirant while lamenting the grave implication of the poor state of the road said it is a major reason for the excruciating poverty level and collapse of economic activities of the people around the area.
He vowed to tackle the problem immediately he is elected as the representative of the people.
The young aspirant expressed shock and displeasure at the way the road has been abandoned by government and successive representatives in the last nineteen years. He said the neglect of the road is an indication of the insensitivity of the representatives over the years.
“If our lawmakers in the past and present are really committed to the construction of the road, it would have been completed before now,” Omoluabi said.
He further stated that with 250m yearly constituency project allocation of the Senator, 300m combined allocation for the two representatives, federal government has spent over seven billion Naira in the last twelve years in Okunland and this sum is enough to put the road in shape for the good of the people, if indeed the current representatives are responsive enough to understand that the road is about the biggest nightmare of the people.
Omoluabi however assured the people that the road, Kabba-Iyamoye road and Kupa road will receive the most unprecedented attention when he is elected.
“It is a statement of fact that the road has been abandoned with the people in a state of despair and utter discomfort arising from the comatose state of the road, but there is hope of total reconstructions when we are elected, by the grace of God.”
