In a heartwarming show of compassion and community development, over 100 widows in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have benefited from an empowerment program initiated by Comrade Dare Mathew, popularly known as OG BOBO.

The widows received both cash gifts and essential food items aimed at alleviating economic hardship and fostering social inclusion.

This humanitarian initiative was carried out under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Barr. Dare Michael Zacchaeus, and reflects a broader commitment to grassroots welfare and support for vulnerable groups.

While addressing attendees at the event, Comrade Dare Mathew commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his remarkable infrastructural achievements across Kogi State.

He lauded the governor’s unwavering commitment to transformational leadership and praised the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu for being a vibrant and inclusive youth leader who prioritizes community well-being.

“This empowerment program is my way of contributing to the good work being done by our Chairman and supporting the government’s vision for a better Kogi State,” Comrade Mathew stated.

“We must all take responsibility for lifting those in need and building a society where everyone is carried along.”

Comrade Mathew, who has long been engaged in philanthropic activities even before his current political involvement, reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining these efforts in partnership with the ruling party and the local government leadership.

The event was attended by notable stakeholders including Hon. Ayeditan Mayowa Emmanuel, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman; Hon. Joseph Segun Ade (Leo), Councilor representing Asuta Ward; aides to the Chairman; ward chairmen; and local government executives, among others.

This empowerment program stands as a beacon of hope for many and underscores the power of youth-led leadership in driving meaningful change at the grassroots level.
