Less than midterm the tenure of the present Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, there has been a noticeable flurry of activities by the discerning that is nothing but absolute political loitering to say the least.
To aspire to any office especially the political is not a crime but like I used to say, to dream is not a taboo but the appropriate prayer is for that dream not to become a nightmare.
Let’s look at this hypothetical situation I once cited.
A man in dispute approached the King in the morning and his matter was heard ex parte meaning the respondent was not even available to state his own side of the story. Curiously the complainant lost with his case dismissed.
He again later in the evening approached the palace but this time with the respondent available and shouted; “Long live, Your Majesty”
Of course the King will live long but what is the right word to capture this bizarre adventure apart from self-denial and self deceit.
Apart from the intrigues, selfish and primordial sentiments, is it appropriate to run a marathon race like a sprint?
For those who are nudging their leaders, refusing to let them know the truth about their ambitions, God is watching you. Genuine love is being truthful even if it is not palatable or convenient.
As another political gambling season approaches in 2026/2027, best wishes to all chronic gamblers but it is abominable to do Naijabet with another man’s resources and peace of mind.
May God save our leaders from callous followers.
