In a significant step toward the 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly election, the doyen aspirant for the Kabba/Bunu State Constituency seat, Hon. Olusegun John Oniwaye (Ogede1), on Saturday, paid a historic courtesy visit to the revered Bunu traditional rulers at Edumo Bunu, where he received royal blessings and words of encouragement from the custodians of the Bunu land’s cultural heritage.
The visit, which was marked by warm reception and cultural reverence, formed part of Hon. Ogede1’s ongoing consultations with critical stakeholders across Bunu land as he prepares for the forthcoming 2027 elections.
During the visit, Hon. Ogede1 formally presented his aspiration to the respected traditional fathers, explaining that his decision to contest for the Kabba/Bunu House of Assembly seat was driven by a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to advancing the development of the constituency.

He emphasized the importance of seeking the prayers, guidance, and blessings of the traditional institution, acknowledging the critical role traditional rulers play in preserving unity, peace, and stability within communities.
Hon. Ogede1 assured the traditional fathers that his aspiration is rooted in a genuine desire to provide effective representation and to amplify the voice of Kabba/Bunu people in the legislative chamber. He further pledged to pursue policies and initiatives that would promote infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, and improved welfare for the people of the constituency.
The aspirant also reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with community leaders, traditional institutions, and other stakeholders to attract meaningful dividends of democracy to the constituency.
In their responses, the Bunu traditional rulers commended Hon. Ogede1 for demonstrating respect for the traditional institution and for seeking royal blessings before embarking on his political journey.
