Oluwaloseyi Babaeko as described the current level of poverty and underdevelopment in Kabba-Bunu constituency as unacceptable.
Babaeko, the candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) for the 2019 Kabba-Bunu House of Assembly election, made this known shortly after his candidature was affirmed by party delegates in Kabba on Sunday.
He vowed to unseat the Speaker of the House, Prince Matthew Kolawole in the 2019 Assembly election.
Kolawole, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), is contesting for the seat where no incumbent has ever won reelection in the history of the constituency before.
“The present quagmire, underdevelopment and poverty level in Kabba-Bunu constituency has reached a breaking point; this is the driving force behind my passion to serve the people of my constituency better.
“With the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), a party that considers the people first with egalitarianism as its Ideology, I am more favored to defeat the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly at the poll,” he said.
Babaeko said the Speaker has done nothing meaningful to deserve a re-election.
“The voice of the good people of Kabba-Bunu constituency is the voice of God and by the grace of God the victory is sure.
“Our ideas and manifesto are issues driven, development focused and programmatically packaged for the benefits of all; UPN will never disappoint the people,” he added.
He eulogized the party leaders for the ample opportunity to fly the ticket of the party, which he said will give him the opportunity to serve his people.
