The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), has called for the immediate release of Justice Samuel Obayomi of Kogi High Court, who was abducted by unknown gunmen.
Kayode Agbarago, National Publicity Secretary of JUSUN, told newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja that the union viewed the abduction of the judge as “unfortunate”.
He said Obayomi had earlier suffered motor accident and was resuming work on Monday when he was abducted in Adavi Council Area of the state.
Agbarago warned that if something urgent was not done to decisively deal with the situation, other judges handling high profile cases might be intimidated to hands-off such matters.
He urged security agencies to live up to expectations by ensuring that the perpetrators of the act were brought to book to serve as deterrent to others.
He also urged the Federal and Kogi governments to fish out the criminals who abducted the judge.
Gunmen on Monday kidnapped Obayomi and killed his orderly, Usman Musa, at Ebogogo High Court in Adavi Council Area.
