Messengers and cleaners above 40 years may soon be retired from Kogi State civil service.
According to an alleged guideline for staff rationalization issued by the Head of Service of Kogi State, Deaconess Deborah Ogunmola, affected state government staff will be served with retirement letters with effect from 16/12/2017.
The guideline, as alleged, stated that all staff that have less than two years in service will be retired. Also, all junior clerical staff that are more than 40years and do not have at least a Diploma certificate will be eased out of service.
Staff that have attained 60years of age and those that have served for more than 35years will be duly retired.
Governor Yahaya Bello, upon assumption of office last year, has embarked on sweeping reforms of the civil service.
