Hon. Ayuba Edino has showered high praise on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the successful flag-off of the 2026 Cashew Production and Marketing Season in Lokoja, describing the initiative as a bold political and economic intervention that redefines Kogi State’s agricultural future.

Speaking after the event in Lokoja, the state capital, Hon. Ayuba Edino stated that Governor Ododo has once again demonstrated purposeful leadership and strategic foresight, particularly with the unveiling of the Kogi State Cashew Procurement and Trade Policy 2025 and the launch of free hybrid cashew seedlings for registered farmers.

According to him, these policies are not symbolic gestures but deliberate instruments of empowerment, especially for farmers and stakeholders in Kogi East, where cashew production remains a critical economic lifeline.

Hon. Ayuba Edino formally recommended Governor Usman Ododo for recognition and commendation, noting that his administration has given agriculture a clear political direction backed by action, resources, and institutional support. He stressed that the Governor’s commitment has restored confidence in cashew marketing, strengthened local participation, and positioned Kogi State as a competitive force in the national and international cashew market.

He also commended the Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government, Hon. John Urah, for his steadfast support and effective coordination, which contributed immensely to the success of the flag-off ceremony.

Hon. Ayuba stated that under Governor Ododo’s leadership, cashew production has moved from neglect to priority, signaling a new era of economic justice, rural prosperity, and sustainable development for Kogi State.
