Senator Atai Aidoko Ali, representing Kogi East, has expressed shock on the news of the demise of Senator Isa Wakil of Bauchi Central.
A statement issued on Saturday afternoon said the death of Wakil after a brief illness has thrown the entire red chamber into mourning.
Aidoko stated that the late senator was known for his frankness, hard work, tolerance and perseverance while in public service, saying his demise will create a vacuum that will take a long time to fill in the chamber.
He said as member of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the late senator made valuable contributions towards the genuine attainment of SDGs in the country along with other social intervention programs.
Senator Aidoko commiserated with the immediate family members and the people of Bauchi state, urging the government to immortalize him.
He promised to sustain his advises, wealth of experience, guidance provided during his life time as active member of various committees of the Senate, particularly the SDGs.
