Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has inaugurated surveillance and monitoring team to checkmate pipeline vandalism, product adulteration and other unwholesome activities in Kogi state.
The National President of IPMAN, Elder Chinedu Okorokwo, said the operation of the taskforce will enhance revenue generation for the country and will enable the government to attend to some critical infrastructure like hospital, schools, roads among others.
Okorokwo, represented by his Senior Special Adviser on products, pipeline monitoring and special assignments, Mr Ibrahim Haliru, disclosed this in Lokoja during a courtesy visit to the Navy and Army Commands.
He explained that the visit was at the instance of presidential directives mandating the IPMAN to collaborate with security agencies to checkmate all unwholesome activities in the state.
He stated that IPMAN, in collaboration with security agencies, will arrest and prosecute those indulging on shoddy deals.
Kogi State Coordinator of IPMAN taskforce on surveillance and monitoring team, Abu Usman said the team will check all products coming into the state with a view to ensure quality of the products and the road worthiness of the truck conveying the products.
He solicited the support of Kogi state government to enable the surveillance team perform so that we can achieve our plan for the safety of the people.
