Intra-City Transport: Wada Inaugurates 12 Buses

Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has inaugurated 12 city buses purchased at the cost of N110.7million.

Commissioning the buses yesterday, Wada said his administration was determined to transform the transportation sector.

He said the project was financed from SURE-P funds, adding that the 12 buses were procured at total cost of N110.7 million.

He said the state government has employed a consultant to ensure effective management of the transport service.

Wada warned the newly recruited drivers to be careful while on the roads and imbibe maintenance culture. He also urged the Ministry of Transport to monitor the drivers and maintenance of the buses.

Earlier, the Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of Plant Project, Mr. Biodun Okunola said 70 people have been employed to commence work immediately on the Barracks-Nataco –Felele route and Ganaja -Nataco –Felele route. He assured the governor of effective management of  the  company.
