The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has called on Kogi State government to step up their act and harness the abundant coal deposits in the state for power generation.
The youth body made the call in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of NYCN, Comrade Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin in commemoration of the international youth day on August 12.
According to the statement, “the Obajana Cement Company has been running her plants on this same coal deposits which is a proof to what we can do with it and be totally free from been overly dependent on hdro power generation”
Aiyelabowo urge the state government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello to formulate strategies towards actualizing this all-important project which will not only boost the state’s economy but create job for Kogi youth.
