The Executive Director, Challenged Parenthood Initiative, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, has appealed to Nigerians to come to the aid of a 30 year old Faith Sunday who went through a seven hours successful surgery for intestine resect at Shifaah hospital Lokoja to enable her offset her medical bills currently standing at N1,478,704m.
Eunice Agbogun who made the appeal while speaking with journalists after her visit to the hospital, expressed optimism that Nigerians have always proven to be their brother’s keeper, appealed for Financial support in offsetting the sum of N1,478,704m outstanding.
Faith Sunday, an indigene of Kogi State how went through a surgery for Intestine Resect in September 2021, is presently recuperating t the hospital but unfortunately she is still held back at the hospital in Lokoja, following her inability to pay the medical bills.
Faith Sunday is a 2016 graduate of Geography and Physical Planning from the Kogi State University, Ayingba lost her mother in the same hospital two days after her successful surgery and while she was still in coma.
Faith Sunday’s father’s whereabouts is unknown. According to Eunice Agbogun, he was said to have visited his daughter only once while she was in the hospital and in coma.
Faith’s father a retiree was said to have eloped into thin air when from all indication during her travails it seemed as if she was not going to pull through the challenge and only waiting to be discharged once she is able to get the financial support to offset the outstanding balance.
Through the efforts of well- spirited individuals who contributed in no small measures, Eunice Agbogun said Faith Sunday was able to reduce the initial medical bill from N2.3m, however lamented that N1.4m is still outstanding amount to be paid reason for the appeal.
Faith Sunday is the first daughter in a family of three children, her other sister works in one of the local government in the State, while her only brother is still in school.
Eunice Agbogun particularly appealed to Gov. Yahaya Bello, other spirited individuals and Organizations to please assist in offsetting the bills, expressed optimism that the magnanimity of Nigerian’s will help make the joy of Faith Sunday full, whole and for her to be discharged.
The Executive Director appreciated the management and team of doctors at Shifaah hospital for all they did even without initial deposit by helping to save the life of Faith Sunday, described the hospital and team of doctors as living up to their oath of professional duties to save life far and above the monetary gains.

Faith Sunday’s ordeal started in Lagos State following a surgical operation performed on her to remove fibroid but unfortunately the operation ended in error with her intestine tempered with.
As a result of the complication from the operation and her inability to source a deposit of N1.5m to correct the error in Lagos, she was brought to Lokoja for medical attention by her late mother who also died two days after Faith’s surgery.
Speaking with our Correspondent, Dr Muazu Musa of Shifaah hospital said Faith was brought to the hospital unconscious, thanked God that after she was stabilized, an exploratory laparatomy (Resection and Anastomosis) surgery was carried out on her to correct the error inflicted on her.
