Insecurity: Mopamuro LG Chairman Issues Executive Order to Cut Off Supplies to Bandits

In a bid to cut off logistics supply to bandits and criminals, the Chairman, Mopamuro local government of Kogi state, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny has issued an executive order prohibiting sales of fuel to jerrycans.

Reeling out the executive order in Mopa on Friday, the Council Chairman said the move is to curb insecurity and maintain law and order in the area.

He said the prohibition of sales of fuel to individuals in jerrycans is designed to prevent the diversion of fuel into unauthorized channels, especially bandits hideout.

The LG Chairman also restricted sales of provisions in bulk.

“Provision sellers are hereby instructed to cease selling goods, particularly food items and other essentials in bulks. This directive aims to discourage supplying bandit in their various hideout.

“In the interest of public safety, a curfew has been imposed on all residents of Mopamuro Local Government, restricting movement beyond 10 pm. This measure is intended to enhance security surveillance and reduce the incidence of crime during late-night hours,” he said.

The Chairman directed all security agencies within the local government to strictly enforce the provisions of the executive order. He warned that any individual found violating these directives will be apprehended and dealt with according to the law.

Hon. Ademola Bello urged all residents of Mopamuro to cooperate with the local government administration and security agencies in ensuring the success of this initiative.

“By adhering to these regulations, residents can significantly contribute to maintaining peace and security within their communities. Together, we can make Mopamuro a safer and more secure place for everyone.”
