The disturbing level of insecurity bedeviling our land in Bunu axis, Kabba/Bunu LGA is simply getting worse by the day. I am always terrified by the reports of killings and kidnappings across the our various villages on a daily basis. No one can tell who would be the next victim.
Truth be told, all is not well with Bunu people at the moment. Criminals are feasting on our fatherland. Bandits are reigning like wildfire. Kidnappers are having a field day. Gunmen are ravaging. Terrorists are on a rampage killing and maiming our people. As it is, it is dangerous to sleep with one eye closed. All eyes need to be openee to be on the alert. We’re still battling with Mr. Bolu in Aduratedo-Ape who sustained a serious gunshot injuries with the wife and a four months baby still in the kidnapper den, the news of another abductions occurred in Agbede-Apaa and Ayegunle Igun respectively.
The bad news is Mr. Olorunmola also known as lawlee was killed by bandits. Honestly, Bunu is bleeding and a proactive step must be taken to end this menace.
To put things into perspective, throughout the just concluded week, hardly was there a day without the report of killings and abductions. It is just to tell you that all isn’t well with the Bunu’s security situation. The Vigilantees, the local hunters and security agencies are highly commendable but seem to be overwhelmed. Therefore, it is time we take radical novel actions.
The Government must look inward for a new strategies by having an interface with the Village heads, youths, Local hunters and Vigilantees provide them necessary empowerment and equipments and give them free hands to operate i can bet it in a short time all will become things of the past.
On the way forward, I have two propositions for the government. The first is the traditional rulers and individuals who are harbouring Fulanis on our land because of some small benefits. The Government need to take a decisive action against them because some are still ignorant of what’s about to happen.
Secondly, there’s no abduction without an insider, let us stand as a watchdog for ourselves, any suspicious moves or calls should be reported for proper investigation.
The Local Government chairman should endeavor to visit the affected communities to sympathize with them and rekindle their hope. Remember, he’s the one close to the people and not only that, he is responsible to give a recommendation to the Chief Security Adviser. It is what you see with your eyes that you can give recommendation about.
