Kogi  Integrity Group (KIG) has commended the state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the security agents in the state for their effort that led to the  arrest of  17 hardened criminal elements in the state.
The state chairman of the group, Barrister Zacchaeus Dare Michael who gave the commendation in Lokoja yesterday while interacting with newsmen, said the arrest of 17 hoodlums is an indication that the governor who is the chief security officer of the state is on top of security challenges in every parts of the Kogi state.
The  group noted that the current break through in the operations of the security agents had again proved that the award conferred on Alhaji Yahaya Bello  by the Inspector General of Police was a well deserved award.
Michael who berated one Mr Odih Daniel for posting on social media that the arrest of some Boko-Haram members in the state last week was stage managed by governor Bello to allegedly embezzled the funds of the state, called on the security agents to apprehend him for questioning and prosecution.
According to him “I think it is imperative for security apparatus in Kogi state to arrest and interrogate Mr Daniel so that he can give information on what he knows about the security challenges in the state.
“It is laughable for someone like Daniel to doubt the operation of the military whose effort was geared toward making the state a crime free society. He should come out and explain to the public  how governor Bello stage managed the arrest of the two Boko-Haram suspects who under interrogation have made a confessional statements confirming that they  were members of the dreaded terrorist and that  three of their members are at large as at the time they were arrested in Okene local government area of Kogi state.
The leader of the group also warned Senator Dino Melaye to desist from unnecessary bickering on the Chief of Staff to the governor of the state, Mr Edward David Onoja, describing Onoja as a detribalised citizen of the state that strongly believed in equity and justice.
“Dino  should leave the Chief of Staff alone, we the youth in the state like the style of leadership of Onoja , he is an intelligent man who has been supporting the governor to achieve his new direction agenda for the state and he has never disappointed the state unlike Dino  Melaye whose utterances and behaviour is tarnishing the image of the Okun people and the state on daily basis. Therefore we will not accept any condemnation from any body no matter how highly placed the person may be”, he noted.
While further expressing disappointment at the manner in which Senator Dino maligned the state governor and Chief Onoja, the group said  “as a senator, his  conduct in the public ought to be statesmanly because he is being  viewed by people as an elder in the ruling class who suppose to live by example.
“If Senator Melaye can not contribute his quota for the development of the state he so claimed to have love, he should not be condemning people like Onoja who is sacrificing a lot for the state to move forwarded”, he said.
