Disturbed by the increasing rate of crimes and insecurity in the country, Ebira Youth Development Forum in Okunland, on Thursday, held a 3-hours prayer session seeking divine intervention.
In a statement issued by the Forum’s Secretary General, Sunday Ahmed, the youth group is worried about the wanton killings in the country and has resorted to prayers.
The group commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his quick intervention to curb the operations of armed robbers and kidnappers along Kabba-Obajana road in the state.
Ahmed noted that the establishment of a Mobile Police (MOPOL) base along the busy road further confirmed that Governor Bello does not toy with security of lives and property in the state.
“The prayer session led by Mallam Abdulhameed Ibrahim, Sunday Ayo Adams and Ohiare Haruna, sought the face of God in the face of our current security challenges. We sought God’s intervention to halt activities of Boko Haram, armed bandits and other groups terrorizing the nation.
“We call on all the political office holders and the relevant agencies to be up their game to end this serial killings by Boko Haram and armed bandits in Nigeria. We sympathise with families who have lost loved ones to this menace,” he said.
