Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on eligible citizens to take advantage of the continuous voters registration currently ongoing online.
Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Oliver Tersoo Agundu, made the call in Lokoja on Friday during the presentation of certificate of return to winner of August 16 bye-election in Dekina II (Okura) state constituency.
Dr. Agundu said the in-person registration will commence on the 25th August in all the 21 local government areas of Kogi state and the head office in Lokoja.
He enjoined all the eligible citizens of Kogi State not to allow this opportunity pass them by.
“We should do all we can to mobilise our fellow citizens who have turned the age of 18 and those above who have never registered to vote before to come forward and register this time around so that they can participate in future elections,” he said.
The INEC Commissioner, said as an electoral umpire INEC is committed in delivery on its core mandate of conducting a free, fair, transparent and inclusive election at all times.

“But we can only achieve this if all stakeholders are committed to the same ideals. We therefore, wish to encourage all stakeholders to play their respective roles in ensuring the deepening of our democracy and the enhancement of our electoral system.”
