The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has created 10 additional voter’s registration centres in Kogi, the electoral body said in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja.
The statement, which was signed by Mr Ahmed Biambo, Head, Voter Education and Publicity, explained that the step would address rising concerns like difficult terrain, long distance and congestion which were affecting the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
It said that four centres each, were located in Kogi East and Kogi West Senatorial Districts, while three were in Kogi Central.
The INEC official said that 126,501 new voters had been captured since the CVR exercise started in April 2017.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state now has 37 CVR centres.
