The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the party is prepared for the Feb. 27 inauguration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said this on Monday in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
“All I can say is that the party is fully prepared for any conceivable scenario on the issue of a deputy governor in Kogi state,”Odigie-Oyegun said.
NAN recalls that the APC flag bearer for the governorship position, Prince Abubakar Audu died on the day the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election results inconclusive.
Following the development, Audu’s deputy, Mr James Faleke, declared himself as governor-elect and subsequently rejected a joint ticket with the party’s choice of Bello.
