As Muslims across Nigeria prepare for the annual Eid al-Adha celebrations, Alhaji Ahmed Abdul Mumin, the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Imo State, is making a significant impact in his home state of Kogi. Through a foundation established in memory of his late parents, Abdul Mumin has distributed Sallah rams to dozens of families, helping vulnerable communities partake in the sacred festivities.

The Yahaya & Ramotu Lare Care Foundation, launched in 2022, honors the legacy of Abdul Mumin’s late father, Alhaji Yahaya, and mother, Hajiya Ramotu Lare. Since its inception, the foundation has actively supported underserved populations with humanitarian aid spanning spiritual, educational, and social programs.

This year’s distribution focused on rural communities within Kogi State, particularly in Abdul Mumin’s hometown. Recipients expressed gratitude for the timely support that allowed them to fully engage in the Eid sacrifices—an integral part of the Islamic faith.

Through his representative at the event, Abdul Mumin highlighted how deeply his faith and the enduring legacy of his family inspire and drive his commitment to humanitarian outreach.

“Eid al-Adha teaches sacrifice, devotion, and community spirit. Through this foundation, I continue the values my late parents embodied—selflessness and compassion. Their memory inspires every effort we make,” he said.

Local leaders and Islamic scholars lauded the ADC’s commitment. Imam Sulaiman Muhammad of Lokoja Local Government Area remarked,

“Despite his demanding national duties, Alhaji Abdul Mumin remembers his roots and serves his people with humility. This is leadership that inspires confidence and hope.”

Beyond the annual Eid sacrifice donations, the foundation has also sponsored numerous Muslims to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia since 2022, alongside funding Umrah trips for many first-time pilgrims.

Additional philanthropic programs include: Free medical outreach clinics, food relief drives during Ramadan, scholarships for needy but talented students, and empowerment projects for widows and single mothers.

As Nigeria celebrates Eid al-Adha, the humanitarian work of Alhaji Ahmed Abdul Mumin stands as a powerful example of how public service grounded in faith and empathy can uplift communities and honor family legacies.
