Ijumu Unity Group Holds First National Congress Oct 1

A political pressure group, Ijumu Unity Group (IUG) has fixed October 1, 2022 for its first national congress.

In a statement issued by the group’s public relations officer, Yusuf Adeyanju Yisau, on Friday, the congress will hold at Iyara Civil Center, Iyara, Ijumu local government area of Kogi state by 10:00am prompt. 

According to Yisau, royal fathers will be led to the vent by the Olujumu of Ijumu, HRH Oba Olusegun William Ayeni.

“Traditional leaders, community association leaders, eminent persons, former Chairmen of Ijumu LGC and a host of others have been contacted to grace the event.

“Former Ijumu Council Chairmen already contacted are Chief Hon. Samuel Abiodun Ojo, Barr. Sam Ologe, Chief Malomo Owonuwa, Chief Hon. Fehinti Dada, Chief Hon. Dare Osawu and Hon. Dele Abodunde.

“IUG ward coordinators are expected to submit the list of ten delegates from their various wards to the district coordinators for onward delivery to the secretariat on or before 15th of September, 2022. 

“Candidates of all political parties from Senate downward participating in the forthcoming elections that will involve Ijumu electorates are to be invited to witness the landmark event of October 1, 2022.’ the statement read.

The official inauguration of the members of the national executive council of the group and its board of trustees members will be part of the side attractions at the maiden congress.
