Bode Olorunmaiye-led Ijumu PDP Exco Declares Loyalty to Senator Melaye

Wards and Local Government Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Friday, converged in their hundreds at the Aiyetoro Gbede residence of Senator Dino Melaye to declare their loyalty to the vibrant politician.

Also in attendance at the meeting were notable leaders drawn from various wards across the length and breadth of Ijumu Local Government.

The wards executives, who were recognised in turn, were unanimous in their declaration that, they have come to appreciate the ever jovial senator, for his timely intervention in the affair of the party, during the last wards and local government congresses.

According to them, the party at the Local Government level, was at the brink of collapse when God, in His infinite mercy sent Melaye, who courageously thrusted himself in, for a great rescue.

The party faithfuls prayed for the the Aiyetoro born senator, that God will continually back him up in his life pursuits, adding that they are waiting patiently to see him contest in the next Kogi gubernatorial election, as that will afford them the opportunity to pay his good turn with another.

There were torrential flow of goodwill messages that extolled the great virtue of the senator, especially in the area of community services.

Party leaders from across the wards equally kudus to Senator Melaye, even as they charged all newly elected executive members to be magnanimous in victory.

They charge the excos to work as a team towards the victory of the party in all coming election, as victory for the party remains the only true measure of the success of their administration.

In his response, Senator Melaiye appreciated God for the gift of life and His divine involvement in the affairs of his life.

In his usual manner, his words were laden with sandwich of songs that range from gospel, fuji to apala as interjections.

Melaye appreciated the multitudes, that was difficult to be numbered, positing that he is humbled by the turn out of what he thought, would be a mere familiarisation visit, which eventually turned an agora of encomium.

He said all glory should go to God, who happens to be the one that works in him, both to will and to do his good pleasure.

Melaye who was severally described as people’s senator during the meeting, said he hears directly from God and that there has never been a network failure between him and God.

He made passionate appeals to individuals who were aggrieved by the outcome of the various congresses to burry the hatchets as another four years is around the corner.

He promised to go all the way at working out reconciliation with the aggrieved.

Melaye cleared the air by making it abundantly clear that there is only one PDP in ijumu and it has to remain so.

Present at the meeting were other party leaders who took turns to render good will tenderes. They include:

Former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Zaccheaus Atte, Prince Richard Akanmode, Chief Sola Adedoyin, Chief S.O. Adeleye, Hon. Bariga and Hon. Idris Muriana.

Others are Hon Lamidi Saliu, Hon. S.O. Ibrahim, Hon. Ayo Adeleye as well as the Local Government party chairman, Hon Bode Olorumaiye who appreciated all for standing by him during the congress.
