The executive chairman Ijumu local government council, Dr. Remi Odutola has promised to construct bridge over Orare river to link Ikoyi with Otun Adde in Ijumu-Arin district to solve transportation problem of the farmers in the area.
This is contained in a press statement made available by the Public Relations Officer of the local government area, Alhaji M.O.R. Adeyemi.
The chairman made the promise when Ikoyi-Obele community visited him in his office recently.
The Chairman said, the road is the major road that leads to the farms of both communities and sixty percent of farm crops of that district comes from the area.
Dr Odutola also promised to address water problems in Ikoyi and other communities in the local government area.
Elder, J.O. Ibinaiye commended Dr Odutola for his leadership style and his achievements so far, particularly the beautification of the secretariat with solar light and provision of toilet facilities for his staff.
Elder Ibinaiye said, his community will continue to support Dr Odutola and Governor Idris Wada’s administration to enable him deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
