Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu local government area of Kogi State, James Onoja, has received praises from the people of his native home of Amaka for his “grassroot development initiatives.”
The Chairman received the commendations during a meeting with the leaders of the area, led by the Onu-Egwu Amaka, Chief Noah Simon Uya.
Chief Uya congratulated the chairman for making history as the first citizen of Amaka to win a chairmanship election in the local government area. He also commended the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his leadership strengths.
The royal father commended the chairman for prioritising the grading of rural roads and the renovation of the only functional borehole in the community.
He, however, called on the chairman to enhance the functionality of the Primary Health Centre, Amaka, through the posting of additional resident medical personnel to the PHC.
The chairman stated that “though I am from Amaka, I am a chairman for the entire Igalamela-Odolu local government area.”
The chairman pledged the immediate posting of additional medical and health workers to the PHC.
He also assured the delegation of his readiness to employ more workers to complement the efforts of the present workforce.
Gago of Amaka (roundabout) Simon Umoru, Gago of Amaka Town, Mr Levi Adukwu, NUT Chairman, John Onoja among others attended the meeting.
