Youths under the aegis of the Igala Progressive Youth Forum have passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, just as they endorsed Hon. Haruna Ganaja for the chairmanship position of Ajaokuta Local Government Council.
The resolutions were reached at a youth engagement parley held in Ganaja on Saturday, where members of the forum also commended Governor Ododo for his recent visit to the community, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and people-oriented leadership.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the forum lauded the governor’s “humane disposition,” noting that his interaction with residents during the visit had further strengthened confidence in his administration.

The group also declared its backing for former Governor Yahaya Bello, pledging unwavering loyalty to his bid for the Kogi Central senatorial seat, and assuring that they would mobilise support in his favour as a way of reciprocating the notable gains recorded in the area during his administration.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, its President, Hon. Isiaka Usman, said the endorsement of the current leadership was a product of careful consideration of their performance and engagement with the people.
According to him, “Our support is not misplaced. It is based on what we have seen in terms of commitment to governance and inclusiveness, especially among the youth population.”
On the next local government elections, the forum declared its total support for Hon. Haruna Ganaja, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership at the grassroots.
The forum also appreciated the Kogi State Auditor-General, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala, for his mentorship role, which it said had helped in strengthening the structure and vision of the group.
The parley, which attracted youths and community stakeholders from Ganaja and surrounding areas, ended with a renewed call for unity and sustained participation of young people in governance and development initiatives.
