Socio-political group, Igala Vanguard has accused Kogi state government of using all means possible to silence the rising opposition to the administration in the state by coercing some Assembly members into demanding the appearance of Comrade Austin Usman Okai.
In a statement signed by Engineer Lawrence Akpa, on behalf of the group, Igala Vanguard expressed dismay on the misplaced priority of the present administration who knows what to do,but will prefer playing politics with people’s welfare and workers salaries‎ and pension.
“I wish to express the support of Igala Vanguard to the doggedness and resilience of Comrade Austin Okai towards returning Kogi state to the part of glory from the inhuman administration in the midst of glaring provocations.
“Efforts at using security agencies, killer squad, subtle and other confrontational approach have hit the rock. The law makers will not deliver on the current attempt to drag some few misled ones into his failed arrangement as most of them have image problems,” he said.
He said the Kogi government need not to be jittery of the rising profile of Comrade Okai Austin.
The Vanguard demanded a new leaf from the present administration rather than cutting corners to perpetrate its inhumane actions on the people of the state, reminding it of the patriotic roles the media blogger, Okai has ventured into in the last two years.
According to Lawrence, “it is becoming glaringly obvious by the day how the current leadership had ran aground the state by rushing to financial institutions often to seek for loans and advances and in turn diverted same into private pockets through proxies”
He urged the state government and Kogi lawmakers to do the needful as Okai will not be deterred, distracted and cajoled into aligning into the myopic ideas of the state government to deny the masses of their legal and basic entitlements.
