On behalf of my family and the entire people of Ehecho Ejinya, Udama District, Ankpa Local Government Area, I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo, and the entire Ahmed family over the passing of their beloved patriarch, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who died on Monday at the age of 83.
The transition of a father is like the falling of the great Iroko in the heart of the forest — its resounds shakes the land, its absence leaves a void, yet its roots continue to nourish the soil of heritage. In the Igala worldview, such a departure is not an end, but a call into the eternal ancestral assembly, where the voices of the elders become stars guiding the living.
As Onu Awohi Attah Igala and Chief Praise Singer of the Kingdom, I affirm that the life of the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo was not lived in vain. Like the flowing waters of Ochekwu that never run dry, he poured his blessings into generations. His legacy endures in the leadership and vision of his son, His Excellency the Governor, and in the countless lives he touched with dignity, wisdom, and grace.
In this hour of grief, I pray the Almighty grants Governor Usman Ododo and the entire Ododo family the strength of the leopard, the resilience of the palm tree that bends but does not break, and the comfort that comes from knowing their father rests in the bosom of the Eternal.
May the soul of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo journey well into the land of the ancestors, and may his memory continue to shine as a banner of inspiration, dignity, and faith for the Igala nation and Kogi State at large.
