Today, I was not only pained but very bitter to see how my Igala brethren presented themselves as willing tools to be used by those who has caused them immeasurable pains and irreparable damage in the last three years that circumstances presented them the opportunity to steer the affairs of the great people of Kogi state.
While I was going about my daily activities yesterday, I came around a gathering at Ofeko in Anyigba, with people running helter skelter, pushing themselves and behaving in a very unorganized manner, as if there’s a prophet who has announced that he is only blessing a very minute number of people out of the million congregation he is preaching for.
But when I got the information about what was going on that called for such behavior, I said to myself indeed my people had allowed themselves to be ridiculed and dehumanized by those that are suppose to serve them.
The new direction government has set out to distribute some few pieces sewing machines knowing too well that they’ve performed abysmally poor, they’ve resulted to hoodwinking the unsuspecting and less informed citizen with their God forsaken I’ll gotten gift.
This is a confirmation to the fact that this government deliberately refuse to pay salaries so as to starve the masses knowing too well that during electioneering period all they need to finish is to throw crumbs on the floor for them from what they’ve stole from same people.
I just can’t imagine how on earth one will be singing the praise of a government that has birthed an unprecedented poverty, a government that has no respect for the lives of its workforce and pensioners who spent the best part of their existence on earth serving this state.
The Igala people should understand that if hunger could not wipe us out of the surface of the earth in past 3 years plus, is it now that we see an end point to our suffering that we will now compromise?
It should be a thing of concern to all of us that in a state where we are majority but yet treated as a third class citizen.
It is time to show the apostates that we are Igalas and our intelligence can not be toyed with.
Our Mumu Don Do!!!
