A socio-cultural group, Igala in Focus, has applauded the feats of the Executive Director, Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF), Dr Arome Salifu in the World Bank funded Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria Project (ANRiN).
Speaking with newsmen in Idah on Wednesday, the National President of the Igala in Focus, Alhaji Alhaji Halilu described Dr. Salifu as a very focused and visionary pan-Igala personality.
Igala in Focus, a foremost body known for her awareness, sensitisation and social intervention roles in Kogi East senatorial district, said AYGF’s impact is felt across the eastern axis of the state and Ajaokuta local government.
Alhaji Alhaji said such conscious and deliberate efforts to improve the nutrition results in children from 0-5 years as well as pregnant and lactating mothers remained a designed step towards breeding intellectual children who can compete among their peers in terms of intelligence as they grow and develop into adults.
He said parents of beneficiaries are encouraged to be “aware of the very importance of accessing the seven key interventions which includes, Deworming, Vitamin A, Zinc/ORS and Micro nutrient powder (MNP) for children, as well as IPTP (Fansider), IFA and MIYCN for pregnant and lactating mothers.
“All these commodities are given or provided at no cost across 111 wards in 10 LGAs, Kogi state.
“Whoever does anything humanly possible to guarantee a generation of humans that will be cognitively sound and intellectually spurred on manipulative skills and other affective growths and development deserves our fervent prayers, recognition and acknowledgement as a people.”
Also, the Group leader added that it takes a man with passionate vision and good intentions for humanity, and his people to consider bringing such a beneficial intervention with a positive future results to his land of birth.
“Dr Arome Salifu, the Executive Director of Africa Youth Growth Foundation, is an indigene of Abocho, Biraidu district area of Dekina LGA in Kogi state.
“He believe so much in developing people and humanity at large. His love for his people always come first because his principle is making tomorrow better than today. He want the children of tomorrow to be more intelligent than the ones of today.”
