The Iyamoye Development Union (IDU) Burial Planning Committee, under the leadership of Alhaji Gbodi Adamu, has expressed profound gratitude to all individuals and groups who supported the burial ceremonies of the community’s revered monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh, Ariwajoye I, the Obaro of Iyamoye Kingdom.
In a statement released by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, special appreciation was extended to the Royal Fathers across Ijumu Local Government Area, illustrious sons and daughters of Iyamoye, friends of the community, and all well-wishers who contributed in various ways to the success of the burial rites.
The burial ceremonies, which took place between 5th and 7th February, 2026, recorded an impressive turnout of traditional rulers, prominent personalities, community leaders, and members of the public. This overwhelming participation reflects the deep respect and honour accorded to the late monarch.
Speaking on behalf of the Community, the National President of Iyamoye Development Union, Alhaji Abubakar Adeyemi Shittu thanked all attendees for their presence, prayers, and immense support before and after the demise of the royal father.
According to him: “Your attendance, prayers, and all-round support during this period of mourning are deeply appreciated. By your presence, you have given our late monarch a befitting final honour. It is our prayer that Almighty God guides and protects you back to your respective destinations. We are truly grateful.”
In a statement by the Secretary , Burial Planning Committee Mr. Olorunmaiye Joel, he noted that: “The reign and leadership of late Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh was very progressive, impressive and impactful’.
He said “Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh reigned for 20 years, during which he served the Iyamoye and Ijumu Kingdoms with passion, dedication, wisdom, and unwavering commitment.” He similarly called for support for the Regent of Iyamoye Kingdom during the period of his reign.
The Iyamoye Development Union prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and asks God to grant him eternal rest.
